“Change the way you look at things and the things you look at will change.” ~Wayne Dyer
Everything we face in life is a perception. How we perceive things is based on our environment and the way we were raised to handle challenges. The better equipped we are to handle challenges that come our way, the less prone to stress we will be.
- Accept your life the way it is now. Learn to accept your current reality, your weight, your flaws in all their glory, your blessings, Y.O.U., the way you are, now. Feeling anger or hatred towards whomever you blame for where you are right now in life, will only negatively affect you. Give yourself the gift of meditation in order to put the past in the past, and accept life the way it is today.
- Detach and observe. Take yourself out of the situation and look at it like a business situation. When you take the emotions out of the problem, it magically becomes manageable and solvable. You can look at just the facts and do what is necessary.
- Face your fears. Sometimes the reason an issue becomes a challenge is more because of our fears about something that we are afraid to face. The best thing to do is face our fears the first time, then it won’t come back around to bite us again. Taking action is the most important step to get past what is holding you back.
- Don’t compare. Sometimes in business it’s easy to say “Why can’t I be as successful as…?” or “Why are they richer than I am?” When we compare ourselves to others, we are negating all the hard work we did to get where we are at this point in time. We don’t know what obstacles that other person had to endure to get where they are.
Dealing with problems only feel like they are challenges because they take us out of our comfort zone. Dealing with them in the right way means you are growing as a person. Be grateful for the challenges as they are stepping stones to greater things and lessons learned.
